Aceite Artajo, S.L. produces and markets Artajo extra virgin olive oil.

Our brand has been accredited in Tudela since the mid-eighteenth century, with a brief pause in production during the last third of the 20th century.
In 1998, the spirit of the old company was taken up again and a new plantation of 85,000 Arbequina trees recovered the brand that still maintains the strength of yesteryear.
Currently there are 200,000 trees of 12 different olive varieties.

Chronology

(Mid 18th century, we do not know the exact year). Wine and oil production was turned into a commercial venture at the Artajo family home, under the `Artajo` brand. The winery and mill were located on Calle Herrerías, in Tudela.

Cessation of business, due to the arrival of other vegetable oils on the market and also as a result of the loss of reputation of olive oil in Spain, even among the medical profession. This coincided with the 1956 frosts, which resulted in very low olive production figures in Spain during the following years.

New company and planting of olive orchard in Finca Los Llanos, with the aim of recovering the family farming tradition and the Artajo brand.

Collection and preparation of the first harvest of Artajo Arbequina in November.

Planting of new varieties with the aim of studying which adapt best to the land and climate in the Ebro Valley.

New Albador range, a second brand in 0.75, 2 and 5 litre sizes

Gama Albador

30 May. Opening of current facilities, the work of architect Manolo Blasco, at Finca los Llanos, Fontellas. Two functional buildings integrated into the olive orchard landscape; one for olive oil pressing and the other for the oil warehouse, bottling line and offices.

New varieties: Artajo Arbosana, Koroneiki, Manzanilla Cacereña and Coupage and differentiation of the Albador brand into Albador Frutado and Albador Maduro.

Launch of organic range: Artajo Arbequina, Albador Frutado Bio and Albador Maduro Bio.

Introducing the new image of Aceite Artajo. An updated image designed for our customers to recognise the different qualities and traits of the oils produced on the property. To this purpose, we link each product range to the kilos of olives required to make one litre of oil, always of the same quality, achieved by taking the utmost care of the olive orchard and our mill.:
